Cambridge Weather, When to Go and Climate Information

(Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, UK)

The weather in Cambridge is typical of English weather and is often unpredictable, although much of the year is fairly mild. During the summer months of May, June, July, August and September, Cambridge has many fine and often very sunny days and the climate is generally warm. However, Cambridgeshire weather can be fairly changeable and temperatures fluctuate, depending upon the weather conditions.

Spring is a particularly popular time to visit and the weather is fairly mild during March, April and May, although some days may be rainy and windy. Many of the trees begin to flower at this time of the year and some of Cambridge's parks and gardens are filled with literally thousands of snowdrops and daffodils.

Winters in Cambridge can be long and damp and fewer sunny days occur in November, December and January. Temperatures are obviously at their lowest during the winter months, so be sure to bring a warm overcoat, scarf and gloves. Snow is infrequent, but there are often cold, clear, frosty days. December, January and February are the wettest months in Cambridge, although there is often some fine, sunny weather at this time of year. If you are planning to visit outdoor locations, an umbrella is always a useful item to carry. Whatever the weather, there is always plenty to see and do in this historic university city.
