Alice Springs Maps and Orientation

(Alice Springs, Northern Territory - NT, Australia)

Located on the southerly side of Australia's Northern Territory region, Alice Springs has grown up around the Todd River and is now home to a population fast approaching 30,000 residents. Alice Springs lies within the very geographical heart of Australia (the Red Centre) and close to the MacDonnell Ranges.

The town of Alice Springs is divided into six main districts, which surround the actual town centre and are mainly of a residential nature. Central Alice Springs is fairly compact and is a uniform gridwork of roads, stretching just five streets in width and edged by the Todd River, which is generally dry for most of the year.

Pedestrians will favour Todd Street, since this stretch is completely traffic free and connects both Stott Terrace and Gregory Terrace with Wills Terrace, leading onto the Todd Mall. For maps of the region, the newsagents and book stores around the Todd Mall are worth checking out.
