Alice Springs Airport (ASP) Information
(Alice Springs, Northern Territory - NT, Australia)

Alice Springs Airport lies right in the middle of Australia's dry, red outback. It provides quick access to the remote town of the same name, which is situated in the southern Northern Territory. The airport has just one terminal and has been in operation since the 1920s. Although it only handles around 600,000 passengers a year, it has three runways, one of which can accommodate wide-body aircraft.
Domestic flights with Qantas, QantasLink, Tiger Airways Australia and Ausjet are offered. The airport receives flights from all Australian state capitals except Hobart, plus there is a regular shuttle to Ayers Rock (Uluru), to the south-west of the town itself. Alice Springs Airport is curfew-free, meaning that it is open 24 hours.
Facilities are really quite decent for a small airport, while the drive to Alice Springs is straightforward via the Stuart Highway. It is possible to fly directly to Ayers Rock from Alice Springs, or you can hire a car at the airport and self-drive.
