Bali Weather and Climate Information

(Bali, Indonesia)

Beach viewThe climate of Bali is very tropical, with high temperatures throughout the year, being regulated by its relative proximity to the equator. Throughout the year, daytime temperatures in Bali rarely stray far from 30°C / 86°F. Sunshine is plentiful and daylight hours are especially long, with early morning sunrises and sunsets as the evening approaches, at around 18:30 or thereabouts.

However, although there is usually plenty of sunny weather, the fairly high levels of humidity can make the climate feel considerably hotter, particularly at midday, when lunch in an air-conditioned restaurant is often very welcomed. If you are heading into the mountains of Bali, you will find it much cooler and feeling rather fresh.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

The climate of Bali really falls into two rather distinctive seasons; between May and September is the dry season, while from October to April, the wet weather arrives. However, even during the midst of a wet monsoon, it is quite likely that the sun will make an appearance during the afternoon.

The main tourist season on Bali falls between May and July, and most visitors to the island favour this time of the year, climate-wise. However, if you are a keen surfer, then anytime between May and October is a good time to experience the strong waves on the island's westerly coastline.
