Jodhpur Weather, When to Go and Climate Information

(Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India)

Image of the Mehrangarh Fort (Majestic Fort)The climate enjoyed by Jodhpur is typical of that in northern India, with hot summer weather and warm, arid winter months. April, May and June tend to be especially hot months in Jodhpur, when temperatures are known to top 40°C / 104°F. Tourists can simply cope with this humid heat much better with early morning sightseeing, long lunches in air-conditioned restaurants or hotels, and then leisurely evenings exploring the city's many late-night attractions.

The monsoon season tends to fall between June and September, with the climate quickly changing following the build up of constant heat and the arrival of thick clouds. However, the rainy weather is rarely extreme and each month does not usually exceed 17 mm / 0.7 inches, although some years it can be higher.

Both September and October see reduced levels of rainfall and lower temperatures, although these still manage to stay on the upper side of 30°C / 86°F and following the monsoon, feel less humid and fresher.
