India Gate in New Delhi
This giant war memorial was built following the First World War to remember the 90,000 soldiers from India who lost their lives in the war. The India Gate was built over a ten year period and completed in 1931. It measures over 40 metres tall and has a big central arch. It is often compared to the Arch de Triomphe in Paris. The arch is on one side of the Rajpath and central to the Republic Day celebrations at the end of January. We just missed them unfortunately, by a matter of days.

The World Heritage Site of Humayun's Tomb
Humayun's Tomb is in South Delhi, in the Nizamuddin area. The tomb is just unde 500 years old and is a must see if you've never been to Delhi before. Many people think that the tomb and its water channels were the inspiration behind the Taj Mahal in Agra. I could see the similarities myself. Come here and see what you think.

Fantastic Lotus Temple - Bring your camera
This temple is really something quite beautiful and quite unique. It was built in 1986 and is the very best that modern architecture could possibly be, well, that's what I think anyway. It looks like a giant flower which is just starting to open its petals. The Lotus Temple has become one of New Delhi's most visited sights and is surrounded by lawns, pools and gardens. We came back at night to see it lit up. I tried to take some photos, but they didn't come out very well.
