The prestigious Wyoming Arts Council Gallery resides within the very heart of Cheyenne, on Capitol Avenue. This organization was founded back in the late 1960s, under State Statutes, and is funded by both the state of Wyoming and various endowments, grants and partnerships.

Another notable gallery within downtown Cheyenne is Deselms Fine Art on East 17th Street, where it is open throughout the week and can be found just a couple of blocks away from the Lincoln Movie Theaters attraction on Central Avenue.

Located within downtown Cheyenne and just a couple of blocks away from the First United Methodist Church is the popular Manitou Gallery, which is also based in Santa Fe and was originally established in the middle of the 1970s. Between these two locations, the galleries currently represent in the region of 40 contemporary American artists, the majority of which originate from Southwestern America.

Actively cultivating and promoting excellence in the Cheyenne art scene, the Wyoming Arts Council Gallery opened in 1990, being situated within the Kendrick Building and just across from the entrance to the Wyoming State Capitol Building. The Kendrick Building boasts particularly stylish architecture and was built in 1916 as a family home for an affluent local banker, later being used as a church before being sold to the state in the latter years of the 1950s. Various themed exhibitions and events are held here, such as the annual Poetry Out Loud Competition.

Deselms Fine Art

Deselms Fine Art is housed within an attractive building, which is of particular historical significance in Cheyenne. It dates back to the 1880s, when it was constructed as a private residence for the Union Pacific Railroad's very own company doctor. It later became a stylish apartment complex, before opening as this retail art gallery in the year 2001. All sizes and styles of art are available for purchase here, while there are also plenty of ceramics and small ornamental sculptures, along with a custom framing service.

Manitou Gallery

Visitors to the Manitou Gallery can expect to find a real assortment of modern canvasses, stylish sculptures and limited-edition prints. There are also some striking glass creations and lots of handmade jewelry items (necklaces, earrings and bracelets). Many modern artists are represented here, a number of which are very well established.

Artful Hand Studio and Gallery

The Artful Hand Studio and Gallery stands on East 1st Avenue, within relatively close proximity to the Beth El Cemetery and the Cheyenne Regional Airport. Various themed events are staged here throughout the course of the year, together with figure-drawing groups, painting classes and paper-making workshops. Both local and region artists from throughout Wyoming exhibit here
