Alternatively, nearby Tulsa offers two airports, with various domestic and international flights.

Will Rogers World Airport serves Oklahoma City with a range of domestic and some international flights. Airlines operating from the airport include Delta, Continental and United. Meanwhile, other convenient air terminals include Tulsa International Airport and Richard L. Jones Jr. (Riverside) Airport, which also offer air travel to and from the region, with the latter being the busiest airport in the state. Tulsa may be a 100-mile / 160-km journey from Oklahoma City, but the town's two airports have excellent road and bus links, with regular airport shuttle services.

Car Rental

All major car hire companies including Hertz, Thrifty, Budget and Avis are represented in Oklahoma City, with travel outlets at both the airport and in the downtown area. Interstate 35, I-40 and I-44 all converge at Oklahoma, making the city easily accessible from other major US centers, while the Centennial Expressway (I-235) runs right through the center of downtown. Driving in Oklahoma City should not present experienced drivers with too many transport problems and traffic is light outside of rush hour, making hiring a car one of the most convenient ways to travel around the city.

Buses and Coaches

Oklahoma City operates a mass transit bus system, offering residents and visitors alike easy access to destinations across the city. In addition to buses run by Metro Transit, there is a fleet of vintage-style trolleys which travel along routes through downtown Oklahoma City, Bricktown and Stockyards City among other destinations. Greyhound buses also offer regular travel services to other major US centers.

Trains

Amtrak runs a daily train service between Oklahoma City and Fort Worth in Texas, from where there are rail links to other regional centers.

Taxis

In addition to road taxis, Oklahoma City offers residents and visitors the option of using water taxis to travel along the manmade Bricktown Canal. Including a running commentary, the flat-bottomed boats stop at various points of interest along the way.
