Oklahoma City Hotels and Accommodation

(Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - OK, USA)

The accommodation available in Oklahoma City is very affordable and hotels tend to heavily discount their rooms during the quiet winter months. Budget lodging options are in plentiful supply around Oklahoma City, although the cheap motels lining the Interstate I-35, on the southern side of town, are of a variable quality to say the least.

The price of hotels in Oklahoma City is also greatly influenced by local events and conferences. Each April, the Spring Festival of the Arts reliably draws thousands to the city and consequently has a noticeable impact on local accommodation, as does the enormous gathering of American Indians at the city's Red Earth Native American Cultural Festival each June, and the crowds that flock to the World Championship Quarter Horse Show in November.

Where to Stay

Some hotels in the city are conveniently close to the Will Rogers World Airport (OKC), which is to be found just 5 miles / 8 km to the southwest of Oklahoma City, next to the suburbs of Hillcrest and Meadowcliff. Located within the actual grounds of the airport is the Four Points by Sheraton on East Terminal Drive, which really couldn't be any closer. Within a 2-mile / 3-km radius of the airport, popular accommodation options include the Country Inn Suites, the Hampton Inn Hotel and the Hyatt Place, all of which reside on South Meridian Avenue.

Many appealing hotels are situated close to the famous Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, where the Oklahoma State Fair Arena regularly hosts events and boasts a capacity of almost 11,000 people. Within easy reach of the State Fairgrounds is the Regency Inn on Service Road, which is also near to the Cox Convention Center. The Best Western Saddleback Inn on Southwest 3rd Street is around 1 mile / 1.5 km from the State Fairgrounds, and just a stroll away from the popular Celebration Station Amusement Park.

Luxury accommodation in Oklahoma City is not in great supply, although a good place to look is around the Waterford Boulevard and North Broadway, the latter of which being where you will find the Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel, near to the Bricktown Canal and numerous entertainment venues. Rather dominating the Waterford Boulevard, the historic boutique-style Waterford Marriott Hotel offers extremely cheap four-star accommodation and lies on the westerly outskirts of the affluent Nichols Hills neighborhood.

Standing alongside the Cox Convention Center and within the very heart of downtown Oklahoma City is the central Skirvin Hilton Hotel, which is also within walking distance of both the Ford Center Arena and the National Bombing Memorial.
