The majority of cities in the US have identical leasing arrangements, and Raleigh is no different, although there may be more flexibility regarding the term of stay. The typical contract requires a one-year commitment, with the tenant required to pay up to three months rent prior to moving in. This includes the first and last month's rent, in addition to a security deposit equal to one month, which will be returned upon completion of the lease.

Buying Apartments and Houses

For those planning on buying property in Raleigh, it is usually much more economically feasible to purchase a house as opposed to a serviced apartment. The supply of houses is immense, and it is not difficult to find an affordable house in most parts of the city.

The one cloud in the silver lining of available housing is that, in the US real estate market in the near future, it may take longer than expected to sell a home. This is a risk any home-buyer takes amidst today's economic circumstances and, although Raleigh is not immune, it has not suffered as much as other areas in the US.
