Yellowstone Airport (WYS) Information

(West Yellowstone, Montana - MT, USA)

Yellowstone Airport is a seasonal facility providing unbeatable access to Montana's hugely popular Yellowstone National Park. This hub operates on a strictly seasonal basis and only opens from 1st of June through to 30th of September, but during this time there are at least two incoming flights per day. Although the star attraction in the area is undoubtedly the park itself, the airport is also reasonably close to the Big Sky ski resort and several towns such as Virginia City and Island Park.

Delta Connection is the sole carrier with commercial service into this airport. During the summer season, it offers two daily direct flights to Salt Lake City, Utah, with an additional midday flight on weekends. From Salt Lake City there are excellent connections to other cities in the US. Private aircraft are also frequent visitors of the facility throughout the year.

The terminal has only one cafe, the Smokejumper, which is open around scheduled flight times. There are no other amenities at the terminal, and so travelers need to come prepared. The airport is just 2 miles / 1.5 km to the northwest of West Yellowstone, with car hire, taxis and shuttle vans providing transport to and from local hotels.
