Yellowstone Airport is located on the outskirts of the town, just 2 miles / 1.5 km to the northwest, and is therefore conveniently just minutes away from the Yellowstone National Park. This facility offers a limited selection of flights, which are operated by Delta Air Lines and link destinations such as Salt Lake City. However, due to heavy snowfall, the airport usually remains closed between November and May. Further afield, a number of regional airports are relatively nearby and open year-round. The closest of these are sited in Gallatin Field Airport (BZN), in Belgrade and next to Bozeman - (92 miles / km, north); Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) - (108 miles / km, south); and also Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) - (118 miles / km, south).

Car Rental

Rental cars can be hired at all of the surrounding airports and also within West Yellowstone itself, with the most popular international companies include Avis and Budget cars. Airport shuttle transport is also available, being operated by Classic Limo and traveling from West Yellowstone to Bozeman, Big Sky, Livingston and also Mammoth, although routes can often be tailored to suit individual needs.

Trains

Rail services do not operated around West Yellowstone. Therefore, those looking for long-distance trains will first need to travel to the Amtrak stations within southeast Idaho and also north Montana, where you can ultimately reach many American towns and cities, far and wide.
