Tobago Hotels and Accommodation

(Tobago, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago)

Picture of beachfront holiday villasFor many people planning a holiday on the island of Tobago, the lush palm tree foliage and hotels fronting white sandy beaches are exactly as pictured. Tobago offers a particularly tropical Caribbean feel and does tend to feature a better selection of beachfront accommodation than that on offer within Trinidad.

Lodging on Tobago is very much centred around the capital of Scarborough, which resides on the southerly side of the island and is regularly frequented by arriving cruise-ship passengers. Hotels in Scarborough offer well-placed accommodation, being within easy reach of leading island attractions, such as both the Fort King George and the beautiful Botanical Gardens.

Where to Stay

The south-westerly side of Tobago is filled with quality tourist resorts and affordable hotels, all of which are particularly close to Scarborough.

All kinds of accommodation is to be found around Crown Point, on the far southerly tip of Tobago, as well as Pigeon Point, Plymouth and the leading scuba diving resort of Buccoo. Nearby, the colonial-style Villas at Stonehaven Bay come recommended and stand alongside a simply vast bird sanctuary.

Beachfront viewFor a very different pace of life and choice of lodging, head to the far north-easterly side of Tobago, and to the villages of both Charlotteville and Speyside.

Charlotteville is located at the far end of Windward Road and on the western side of the Man of War Bay. Whilst there are no large hotels in Charlotteville as such, accommodation is available, in the form of friendly family run guesthouses, often close to Pirates Bay.
