Juliaca Inca Manco Capac International Airport (JUL) Information

(Juliaca, Puno, Peru)

The Inca Manco Capac International Airport is the main tourist gateway to the famous Titicaca Lake, the largest lake in South America and the highest navigable body of water in the world. The airport is located in the Puno region of Peru, near the city of Juliaca. At an elevation of some 3,800 metres / 12,467 feet, it is ranked as the world's third-highest commercial air facility.

The site resides a few miles north of the centre of Juliaca and despite having the designation of an international airport, it does not currently handle any international flights. Instead, it is a major gateway to the area around Juliaca, Puno and Lake Titicaca. It is worth noting that when flights have low passenger numbers, they may be cancelled with very little notice.

This single-terminal facility is served exclusively by domestic airlines such as LAN Peru, Star Peru and TACA Peru. These carriers provide domestic connections to the cities of Arequipa, Cusco and Lima. From the sizeable airport in Lima, passengers can connect with numerous international destinations.
