Juliaca Hotels and Accommodation

(Juliaca, Puno, Peru)

Picture ofcentral city hotelWith the neighbouring city of Puno in close proximity, many visitors to Juliaca choose to base themselves there, where the selection of hotels and accommodation options is considerably larger. Lodging in Puno also has an advantage over any accommodation in Juliaca, since it is so close to Lake Titicaca - the views don't come any better than those on offer at the modern lakefront Titilaka Lodge.

Those staying in Juliaca will find a selection of hotels clustered in the city centre, with lodging at its most plentiful around the Plaza Bolognesi and the Train Station. Accommodation rates do fluctuate at times, with June, July and August tending to be the busiest and most expensive months to visit Peru's Puno Region. However, by simply politely asking for their best price when you book, most hotels will offer a good discount immediately.

Where to Stay

Cheap hostels are perfect for those simply choosing to stop off in Juliaca, on their way to the shores of Lake Titicaca or one of its enticing raft islands. Budget accommodation also includes many basic 'hostales' (guesthouses), such as the centrally located Hostal Sakura and the upscale Royal Inn Hotel, both of which reside on the San Roman.

Situated on the northern side of the Plaza Bolognesi and on the 9 de Diciembre, the convenient location of the Hostal Don Carlos is hard to beat. For perhaps the best accommodation on offer in Juliaca, do consider the Don Carlos Suites Hotel on the Manuel Prado, which enjoys a noticeably quieter setting, several blocks to the south.
