Belem Hotels and Accommodation

(Belem, Pará, Brazil)

Numerous hotels present themselves to accommodation-seekers arriving in Belem. Located on the Avenida Governador José Malcher, the Amazonia Hostel is extremely popular with backpackers, featuring cheap dormitory lodging set within the mansion of a former rubber baron.

An increasing number of the mid-range accommodation options available in Belem are only slightly more expensive than budget hotels, and so should certainly not be discounted, even if you are watching the pennies carefully.

Where to Stay

In general, much of the accommodation in Belem is concentrated in just a handful of areas. Hotels are in good supply both on and nearby the Avenida Presidente Vargas, which lies on the outskirts of the city's commercial centre. The upmarket Hilton Belem is one such hotel and its 361 guest rooms come with views of not only the Republic Square (Praca da Republica), but also the Guajara Bay.

Just a short stroll to the east of the Avenida Presidente Vargas, the Avenida Nazaré is where you will find the Crowne Plaza Hotel, which boasts four-star accommodation, air-conditioned rooms and a swimming pool. To the north, additional lodging is to be found around Sao Bráz and the Avenida Governador José Malcher, while further north, hotels on the Avenida Julio Cesar are well-placed for travellers, since they are just a short distance from Belem's busy Val de Caes International Airport.
