Cordoba Parks and Gardens

(Cordoba, Andalucia, Spain)

Cordoba has an abundance of parks and green spaces, from botanic gardens to picturesque courtyards. In fact, visitors can feel thoroughly spoilt for choice.

Together, these green spaces boast one of the widest varieties of plants in the country, including palms and cypresses, as well as lemon trees. Typically, they all offer a heady scent of roses, orange blossom and bougainvillea. They certainly offer colour all year round, too.

During the summer months, Cordoba's parks and gardens also provide welcome shade and respite from the crowded narrow streets of the city's historic quarter.

Paseo de la Victoria

This lovely expanse of parkland sits at the heart of Cordoba's centre, forming something of a green belt between the historic quarter and the western part of the city. It is actually made up of several areas, including the Diego de Rivas Gardens and the Gardens of El Conde de Vallellano. Both feature palm trees, fountains, lawned areas and flower beds. In the evening, it is a pleasant place to stroll and people watch.
