Although the summer weather in Eindhoven can be sunny and at times, even a little hot, some days can be a little wet, making a waterproof coat or umbrella a necessity.

Rain showers rarely spoil a holiday, particularly in the summer, when Eindhoven enjoys average daytime temperatures of around 22°C / 72°F or 23°C / 73°F, in July and August respectively. However, these can climb higher and can exceed 25°C / 77°F, although rarely reach anywhere near 30°C / 86°F. If you are extremely unlucky, you may find yourself experiencing a rainy week.

The rain is by no means as bad or as heavy as many people would have you believe, although the winter evenings and nights regularly feature heavy showers. Locals in Eindhoven don't let even the worst weather spoil their plans and believe very much in preparing for the worst, and enjoying the sunshine when it does arrive.

The winter months in Eindhoven are slightly colder than many other parts of the Netherlands, with a chilly climate and frosty weather overnight in both January and February. Infrequent frosts can continue right into the early spring, when even heavy snow is not uncommon. However, by April, temperatures in Eindhoven are on the up and soon reach 15°C / 59°F or more on occasion.
