Football / Soccer (Calcio)

Soccer (calcio) is a real national obsession in Italy and Bologna is no exception. Five-a-side football is also popular in the city. Bologna has an enormous football stadium which can hold over 40,000 soccer fans - the Renato dall'Ara City Stadium at Via A. Costa.

Tennis Courts

There are many public tennis courts available for hire and private clubs also often offer temporary membership to passing visitors. Some hotel tennis courts can be used by non-residents for a small charge.


Cycling

Italians enjoy the sport of cycling and there are many cycling events in Italy throughout the year. There are several golf courses near to Bologna and probably the best known is Golf Club Bologna, an 18-hole golf course situated at Via Sabatini 69, 40050 Chiesa Nuova di Monte S. Pietro, 8 km / 5 miles from south Bologna. The golf course features golf cars, club hire, driving range, pitching green, pro-shop, putting green and also a restaurant and bar.
