St. Tropez Hotels and Accommodation

(St. Tropez, Provence-Alpes Cote d'Azur, France)

Picture of St. Tropez waterfront lodgingWhilst it is true to generalise and say that Saint Tropez is by no means a destination for those looking to holiday on a shoestring budget, the resort does have a number of camping sites, which offer much more affordable accommodation than the beachfront hotels. The most popular are based around the Plage du Pampelonne, although even these are a little pricey.

Saint Tropez has become a resort for the wealthy and is known to attract many famous celebrities during the summer months, adding a certain credibility to the luxury hotels where they choose to stay. If you turn up in Saint Tropez without a reservation, the tourist office on the Quai Jean Jaurès always provides the very latest information regarding lodging and accommodation options, although do bear in mind that hotels with availability between April and September are virtually unheard of, unless that is, you are prepared to pay through the nose.

Where to Stay

Many people choose to simply stay close by, at either La Croix-Valmer, La Garde-Freinet, Nice or St. Raphael, where hotels and similar lodging options are plentiful and more reasonably priced, visiting Saint Tropez as a day trip.

Out of season, available accommodation becomes much easier to find, and slightly cheaper, although some hotels choose to close completely at this time of the year, sometimes as long as between October and April, so your choice will not be as extensive as in the summer.

Alternatively, a good standard of accommodation can be found at the Lou Cagnard on the Avenue Paul Roussell, or the Baron Lodge on the Rue de l'Alioli, which has rooms overlooking the citadel.

If money is no object, then the top end hotels in Saint Tropez will certainly not disappoint. Most of these luxury hotels only open for the summer season and include La Maison Blanches on the desirable Place des Lices, and also the Pastis and La Mistralée hotels, both of which reside on the Avenue du Général Leclerc.
