(Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England, UK)

Photo of the Burslem School of ArtThe Cultural Quarter of Stoke on Trent is based in Hanley and is where you will find a number of interesting art galleries. Located on Broad Street, the subsidised AirSpace Gallery offers a comprehensive calendar of exhibitions, which tend to change on a monthly basis and include not only paintings and sculptures, but also local Staffordshire ceramics and pottery creations.

Located in the Fenton area of Stoke on Trent, the Artbay Gallery has a tempting selection of bold original contemporary art works, as well as some more affordable limited edition prints. The strong ethos of the Artbay is to promote North Staffordshire artists wherever possible and features pieces by Angela Pike, John Birch, Laurie Clarke, Neil Jessop, Sid Kirkham and Vicky Mount, as well numerous further local artists.

Another cultural highlight in Stoke on Trent is the Burslem School of Art, which was founded in 1853 and moved into the Wedgwood Institute short afterwards, being relocated here in 1905. Recently completely refurbished, the Burslem School of Art provides regular exhibitions, workshops and related events throughout the year
