Although the spring climate can see some fine and relatively warm days, much of the weather experienced by Winchester at this time of the year feels quite chilly, cooled down considerably when it is windy. Throughout December, an open-air ice skating rink is erected outside of Winchester Cathedral, with a German-style festive market taking place close by for much of this time and adding to the overall appeal.
