Winchester Cathedral
When I went to Winchester last week, I thought I must visit the cathedral. It looks beautiful and its well worth a walk around. Even though I'm not religious I still found it interesting. Getting into the cathedral itself is a little on the expensive side, but apparently the locals can get annual passes. Climbing up the tower and on to the roof was the best bit, although I found Jane Austen's grave and special stained-glass window also very interesting. I'm glad I visited in the winter, because you have the advantage of going on the ice rink. It was quite packed and you had to queue, but it was loads of fun.

Hands-on science fun
A great half-day should be put to one side for any parties interested in visiting INTECH, as we did. We were lucky that to catch an interesting exhibit and the show that was running but the unique aspect of this attraction is that it can be visited all of the year round because of its schedule constantly being updated. Take a taxi or bus for just a couple of miles from the heart of Winchester.

More than just a zoo
A love of wildlife is about the only thing that each member of our family has in common with one another and we weren't disappointed by Marwell Wildlife - a 140-acre park that plays host to over 250 exotic species, some of which are endangered. Easy to get to at just five miles from Winchester.

One of the UK's finest
Although far from a practicing Christian, I enjoyed Winchester Cathedral immensely and recommend that any one interested in visiting puts at least half a day aside to enjoy it properly. It's a nice half a mile stroll to the building from Winchester town centre with the library and the nearby Triforium gallery fascinating.

Definitely among the best in the UK
Couldn't agree more. Travelled to Winchester with my family and we all loved it there. I was blown away by the sheer atmosphere of the place and the extensive book collection that included the Winchester Bible. Both historical and educational!

Incredibly interesting military museum
I'm soldier from Russia am currently in England to visit friends that have live here now. Because of me being soldier and tourist, I checked Royal Green Jackets Museum. Even with my limited English skill I was able to enjoy this activity.
