I didnt realise there were so many things to do
We live near Eastbourne, have done for many years and are constantly finding new and fun things to do there. We don't always go on holiday to Devon etc, as Eastbourne is right on our door step. There is literally something for everyone, so its well worth checking out, especially if you dont live a million miles away from Eastbourne and travel costs are not prohibitive. I'd describe the town as inexpensive, unlike Brighton, and far nicer. The list of things to do has inspired us to visit again this summer, far cheaper than going on a far-away holiday! The other reviews on this page also sound spot on!

Fun at the beach
Loved Beachy Head and the beautiful views. There is a lighthouse at the bottom of the cliffs and it completes the picture perfect scene.

Victorian Pier
We took a trip to the pier and enjoyed the shops and Camera Obscura where we saw the town from different angles. We grabbed some lunch at a fast food café and after a day of sightseeing we headed to the bar for a relaxing drink. We were too tired to stay out late but apparently the night club gets busy after dark.

Re. Cuckmere Haven Park
If you are on a tight budget you can take bus 12 from the middle of town and there are regular services to the park.

Cuckmere Haven Park
We headed out of the town for a day trip to Cuckmere Haven Park. Once we got there we discovered that we could rent bicycles so we had a fun day riding through the forest and estuary. The visitor center can give you all the additional information that you need. We rented a car to get there but apparently public transport goes along this route.

Shop till you drop
We started off in Arndale Center before heading to the Enterprise Center. There is a decent range of shops and you can also find designer names. Unique items can be found in Little Chelsea and there are lovely second hand bookshops in this area if you are looking for something to read while you are on holiday.
