A sizeable and sunny seaside town, Eastbourne resides within the county of East Sussex, on the far southerly coastline of England. The town really does come to life during the summer months, when it welcomes something of an influx of holiday makers and families, arriving in search of sun, sand, sea and general seaside fun.

Eastbourne lies within close proximity to Beachy Head, a towering cliff made from chalk and located just a short distance to the east. The South Downs serve as another prominent natural landmark in this area, while the chalky coastline is quite striking when viewed from a distance. Lying in between the town and nearby Seaford, the chalk cliffs comprising the Seven Sisters provide popular photo opportunities and are the result of years of gradual erosion.

Families planning a bucket and spade holiday in Eastbourne will find all of the usual amenities, namely beachfront amusements, cafes, fish and chip shops, Victorian hotels overlooking the sea and lots of gift shops. However, there is also more than a smidgen of culture, with classical music concerts being regularly staged at the Congress Theatre on Carlisle Road, as well as at the Devonshire Park Theatre on Chiswick Place, the Royal Hippodrome Theatre on Seaside Road, the Winter Garden Theatre on Compton Street and at the town's historic bandstand, close to the pier and the Wish Tower.
