The Bay Hotel
A few weeks ago we went on a trip to Lyme Regis and stayed in The Bay Hotel. This hotel has great views of the sea. The access is not really a problem, as the staff are very helpful. When you arrive the staff carry your bags as there is no lift. The restaurant the Bay Leaf has some really good food, we would recommend the bacon sandwich even though it is a bit pricey.

The Road Not Taken
Something different we found to do there was visiting the Undercliff from 1800 landslide. You can walk under and around where it happened. There are loads of paths and hidden chasms, but make sure not to go alone and let your hotel know where you are. It can be dangerous. You can get there by car or even catch the bus that lead to the golf course.

Sand Cluster
The beaches are overcrowded and not so great for swimming. It is got a tad bit of a charm, but just isn't really the nicest town.

Use Your Resources
It doesn't seem like there is very much at first, but the Tourist Information Centre located on Church Street near the Marine Theatre. Because it has a beach, Lyme Regis was a good place to use as a base to take day trips elsewhere before coming back and spending some time in the sand. We enjoyed it there.

Boring and Peaceful Mix
It is not what I am use to as a great beach town. Mostly, it is a place to relax and do some reading or something. At night, the best thing to do is go to the pub, but everything will close so early.

Basic Town, Good Amenities
I was trying to do a coastal tour of England and this seemed like a good place to stop. The beach is pretty alright considering where the town is located. Spent some time at The Cobb Arms on the harbor. Again alright, but the fish dishes were some of the best prices that I've seen and it had a proper pub atmosphere. I stayed at the Royal Lion that had an indoor swimming pool that came in handy. Friendly staff, breakfast included. Not much else to do there, but take some walks along The Cobb - you can get some decent shots there at sunset.
