Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

During the very peak of the summer, you can expect temperatures to stay well above 20°C / 68°F, and even higher at times. Many of the locals in Truro head to nearby beaches during the sunniest spells, with nearby Falmouth offering plenty of sand to go round. Newquay, directly north of Truro, is also a popular spot in the summer, when many notable surfing competitions take place.

Restaurants and cafes in Truro often provide outdoor eating areas in the summer, when an afternoon cream tea becomes particularly appealing. Pub gardens are especially popular in the balmy evenings and many feature playground areas, where children can keep themselves entertained.

Winters in Truro can be breezy on occasion and whilst frosts are unusual, chilly and somewhat crisp mornings are by no means unusual here. Spring arrives very early in Truro, with the plants soon bursting into life. Flowers are a clear sign that the weather is on the change and many begin to bloom much earlier than you would expect.
