(Truro, Cornwall, England, UK)

Picture showing the city's very own cathedralTruro is a surprisingly historic location and contains many unexpected landmarks. The centrally located and relatively recent Truro Cathedral is particularly noticeable, standing high above the surrounding buildings.

Truro Cathedral dominates the area and is a useful reference point when walking around the city centre.

Further landmarks can be found around Truro's Lemon Street, where fine Georgian architecture abounds, with many grand, golden stone facades rivalling some of England's best.

One of the city's most eye-catching landmarks, Truro Cathedral dates back to the late 19th century, when its construction first began.

Featuring a Gothic-style facade and a central spire which towers to 76 metres / 250 feet, Truro Cathedral was actually built on the site of a historic 16th-century church, part of which remains and now forms the basis of the cathedral's Lady Chapel. This grand structure also features two western towers and is close to many nearby shops, cafes and houses.
