Limassol Hotels and Accommodation

(Limassol, Cyprus)

Photo of central streetAs the second-biggest city on the island of Cyprus, Limassol certainly has more than its fair share of accommodation to offer holiday makers, with beachfront hotels overlooking Akrotiri Bay being understandably sought after.

The majority of accommodation and lodging options in Limassol tend to be very touristy and line a 9-km / 6-mile hotel strip, which stands directly to the northeast of the Old City area. These high-rise hotels and apartments are often rather crowded and pricey, especially during the peak summer months of June, July and August. Rates drop dramatically during the quiet Cyprus winters, when a number of the smaller guest houses and similar hotels may even close for a short period.

Where to Stay

For lodging with a little more character, Limassol's Old City is the place to look, with a fairly limited array of accommodation usually having vacant rooms, for those who prefer to simply walk in on the off-chance. The cheapest hotels in this part of Limassol tend to be found on the eastern side of the castle.

Popular budget and mid-range choices include the Luxor Guest House on the Agiou Andreou, the Kapetanios Hotel on the Panagioti Symeou, and the Metropole on the Ifigenias. Sited on the very edge of the tourist centre and well placed for both sides of Limassol, the Best Western Pavemar is another affordable accommodation option and comes with its own swimming pool and roof terrace. Alternatively, look to Anexartisias Street or Yeorgiou Malekidi Street for cheap places to stay.
