Picture of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of BelgiumWhen you are walking around Brussels, it's never usually very long until you pass at least one art gallery. There are so many art galleries in Brussels that there is sure to be something for everyone, whether you are a lover of classical art or more modern works.

Particular notable art galleries include the Guillaume Charlier Museum (Charliermuseum), where an outstanding collection of Belgian paintings from the 19th century can be enjoyed, and also the Museum of Ancient Art (Musée d'Art Ancien), which features a series of old masters from as far back as the 15th century. A series of quality galleries are housed within the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium on the Rue du Musée and these include both the Museum of Ancient Art and also the Brussels Museum of Modern Art, making this the biggest cultural complex of its size in the whole city.

For modern art galleries in Brussels, the installations at the Centre of Contemporary Art (Centrum voor Hedendaagse Kunst) and the Museum of Modern Art (Musée voor Moderne Kunst) won't fail to excite, while for something a little more out of the ordinary, the Belgian Centre of Comic Strip Art (Belgisch Centrum van het Beeldverhaal) celebrates emerging comic strip artists from the mid-20th century and is located within the stylish Waucquez Warehouses.
