The closest significant airport to Port Douglas is Cairns Airport, which is located just over 60 km / 37 miles to the south and reached along the Captain Cook Highway. Situated close to Holloways Beach, Machan's Beach and the Mount Whitfield Conservation Park, Cairns Airport is easy to find and can be reached in little more than an hour. Shuttle bus transport is available, as well as taxis and car hire.

Car Rental

Port Douglas is amongst the last places before you reach Cooktown where you are able to rent 4WD vehicles. In the town, car hire is available on Davidson Street and Macrossan Street.
