(Port Douglas, Far North Queensland - QLD, Australia)

Photo showing local shopping centreMany of the largest shops in Port Douglas are based along Davidson Street and Macrossan Street, as well as around the interconnecting stretches of Grant Street, Owen Street and Wharf Street.

Particularly notable is the Port Village on Macrossan Street, which offers an array of shopping, with stores including a Coles supermarket, pharmacy, fashion boutique, newsagents and beach supplies, where you can pick up clothing and swimwear suitable for a day on the beach. Also in this part of Port Douglas, the Marina Mirage on Wharf Street comes with a selection of speciality shops, with waterfront boutiques next to the timber boardwalk stocking designer labels such as Coogi, Lacoste, Versace and Ralph Lauren.

Where to Shop

Tourists in Port Douglas often agree that the town's most appealing shopping scene is to be found at the popular weekend markets, where many local artisans sell their wares.

Anzac Park, at the far end of Macrossan Street, is certainly the place to hang out on a Sunday, and this market draws the crowds between 08:00 and 13:00 each weekend, with Aboriginal arts and crafts being a particular highlight for souvenir hunters.
