Fort Rotterdam worth the trip
I would like to echo the sentiments of the previous comment and recommend Fort Rotterdam to all. It has been wonderfully preserved and I would like to learn whether or not the renovation work has been finished now, if anyone knows? Even if the builders are still in, Fort Rotterdam is worthy of an afternoon of anyone's time.

Wonderful colonial architecture
It's no secret that the Dutch once colonised Indonesia and they thankfully left behind some fantastic landmarks and examples of architecture. In Makassar, which is just under 200 miles from Surawesi, I enjoyed Fort Rotterdam.

Unforgettable underwater views
Bunaken National Marine Park often gets slated for its beach being a little dirty but this shouldn't put interested parties off visiting the attraction. The fish and coral will take your breath away as you enjoy world-class diving and snorkelling.

The best Surawesi diving
I also tried Eco Diving during my time in the area and will never forget it. I was a complete rookie and haven't had the chance to get much better but the guides weren't at all concerned about this while making me feel most welcome. What was the name of the guide you had? Just interested.

Unforgettable diving experience
We mainly headed to Sulawesi for just diving alone and the best memories by far were had by Eco Divers at Kima Bajo. We felt like valued customers as the amount of instructors almost outnumbered the amount of paying participants. Our guide was fantastic at finding critters and incredibly knowledgeable.
