Indonesia's longest bridge - a modern marvel
I headed just over three miles from Surabaya city centre to Indonesia's largest bridge - Surumadu - just to say I'd done it. While the fact that it is the longest demands respect alone, I found this bridge to be very average and was simply there to take a couple of photos before heading back.

Re. Indonesia's longest bridge
I can see why you might have become bored if you just went to the bridge only. Next time you're in Surabaya I recommend heading to Kenjeran beach area for the best views of the bridge then taking it easy there for a few hours.

Re. Interesting for both smokers and non-smokers alike
It's a shame that you didn't see the 'Family House'. I too went with my wife and the young ones and checked beforehand that there would be something family-oriented before arranging transport from our hotel and back again.

Interesting for both smokers and non-smokers alike
As the only smoker in our group it took some effort to convince everyone and win them over, but even those who can't stand the sight of cigarettes will have an interest in the House of Sampoerna as it tells more than just the story of the history of the tobacco company but also the story of its country's history. There is a museum area and art gallery to enjoy but admittedly there could have been more family stuff.

Re. Wet 'n' wild
After trying both parks in Surabaya and Bali, I would like to save you time and money by saying don't bother with the latter. The one in Surabaya is miles ahead and they were very kind, good hosts when we arranged a birthday package for my youngest daughter.

Wet 'n' wild fun for family
We have plenty of fun water parks in Philippines but our group of tourists really like Capture Waterpark in Surabaya - the largest of its kind anyplace inside Indonesia. I think the best time for going is in the week when people are working, because it can be really busy after or on weekend. We're thinking about checking out the one in Bali next time.
