The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) is especially popular in Mumbai and enjoys a central location, along MG Road.

Mumbai's most historic art gallery, the Artist's Centre was established in the middle of the 20th century and is frequently used by visiting artists. Look out for the regular art-related events and exhibition openings, which take place here throughout the year.

Sited within the Sir Cowasji Jehangir Public Hall, Mumbai's highly acclaimed National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) is a modern exhibition venue and amongst the best of its kind in the whole of India. Complete with a permanent collection of contemporary Indian pieces, which are displayed on the top-floor of the Dome Gallery, the venue is best known for its excellent visiting exhibitions, which attract both significant Indian and international artists alike.

Fine Art Company

Located on the western side of Mumbai and known for its striking, modern Indian art works, the Fine Art Company is a relatively new addition to the city's art scene and has already gained quite a reputation. As well as operating as a commercial gallery, you will also find a small, notable collection of local paintings.

Galleria

Over the years, many famous artists have exhibited their works at this venue before gaining notoriety. The Gallery 7 is dedicated to exhibiting art works from both India and also Canada, dating back more than 20 years. You can always be sure that you will be able to find something of interest here.

Jehangir Art Gallery

One of the most popular art galleries in the city of Mumbai, the Jehangir Art Gallery is a spacious venue, split into separate gallery areas and exhibition venues, such as the Gallery Chemould, which is located on the first floor and specialises in contemporary pieces. This is a great place to purchase some quality art, although many people visit simply for the gallery's popular coffee shop.

Housing both the Piramal Art Gallery and also the Gallery for Modern Art, the Mumbai National Centre for Performing Arts has become an important part of the city's thriving arts scene. Apart from its many art exhibitions, other attractions within the centre include a number of theatre spaces, where concerts, musical events, plays, readings, dances and conferences are often hosted.

Prithvi Gallery
