The Shaanxi Opera at Night
The people of Xian have a unique culture. I would like to recommend for you to see the Shaanxi Opera - it is quite beautiful and interesting. Intense colors and dedicated performers make it very special.

Busy, But Nice Places to See the Culture
We were surprised at how there were so many people at every attraction, but we had no problems only some warnings. So many places have guides that want to show your group around for a fee, but it wasn't necessary. There are so many temples and museums. We very much enjoyed this city.

Don't Miss Ha Shan Mountain Range
Of course the top attraction is the Terracotta Army - pictures cannot even begin to capture the place, but getting out of the city is nice too. Hua Shan Mountain is also a great place to go for history. It is a nice day out hiking though you will need to book a trip or take a bus to get there.

Re. Affordable Hotels Very Near
Couldn't agree more. We booked a hotel online and then found out about dozens more where more backpackers were staying once we got there.

Affordable Hotels Very Near
Xian is the best to find the cheap hotel. All the places are clean, but it is important to be patient with the staff. They don't always understand our English and most of us don't speak Chinese. There are also many expensive hotels, but it is not necessary to stay there.

Terracotta in the Spring
The spring was bright and crisp - There were many flowers to help make the day even better. The Terracotta Army site is absolutely worthwhile despite the crowds. If you want to buy the souvenir though, you should wait and shop around. Avoid places just outside the attraction.
