(Zimbabwe, ZW, Southern Africa)

The landlocked Republic of Zimbabwe is to be found in Southern Africa and is situated right in between the Limpopo River and the Zambezi River, to the north of South Africa.

Much of Zimbabwe is based around an elevated central plateau, while its eastern region is especially mountainous and where you will find towering Mount Nyangani. The Victoria Falls sits on the far north-western side of the country, on the border with Zambia, and is responsible for a significant chunk of the country's tourism revenue, with visitors travelling to see this spectacular series of waterfalls from far and wide.

Once one of the wealthiest and most successful countries in Africa, Zimbabwe is currently suffering with a struggling economy and as a result, many of its hotels are offering their cheapest rates for years, in an attempt to encourage business. Apart from the Victoria Falls, other attractions of note include the ruins of the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe, Lake Kariba and the Eastern Highlands, as well as the sizeable cities of Harare (the capital) and Bulawayo.
