Zimbabwe Tourist Attractions and Sightseeing

(Zimbabwe, ZW, Southern Africa)

Most potential visitors to Zimbabwe tend to plan on basing themselves in the country's proud capital city, Harare, which lives within the northeastern quarter.

The fact that Harare is such a surprisingly green city is represented in its many tourist attractions, which come in the guise of a multitude of parks and gardens. These include Greenwood Park, the Harare Gardens and the Mukuvisi Woodlands, as well as the National Botanic Gardens.

Formally opened at the beginning of the 1960s, Zimbabwe's National Botanic Gardens is truly something of a plant-lovers' paradise, overflowing with indigenous exotics that thrive within the warm climate of Harare. The gardens cover just under 150 acres / 60 hectares and are to be found on the northerly outskirts of the city, within the Alexandra Park suburb. Of interest, these grounds originally began their life as a recreational spot at the beginning of the 1900s.
