Zimbabwe Art Galleries

(Zimbabwe, ZW, Southern Africa)

There are several extremely important and impressive national museums of art awaiting visitors to the African country of Zimbabwe.

These galleries are to be found within the cities of Bulawayo (the second-largest city), Harare (the capital and largest city) and Mutare (the third-largest city).

All of these institutions come together to form the National Galleries of Zimbabwe and offer plenty to admire, with the oldest and arguably the most notable being found in Harare. Between them they cover a real assortment of subject matters ranging from contemporary canvasses and sculptures, to more traditional paintings, large arty photographs, limited-edition prints and countless exhibits created by local artists and artisans, such as hand-woven basketry and intricately carved wooden furniture.
