Williamsburg Churches and Cathedrals

(Williamsburg, Virginia - VA, USA)

When Williamsburg became known as the 'Capital of the Colony', its fortunes and status changed overnight. Land for its Capitol Building was soon allocated and construction of the famous Bruton Parish Episcopal Church followed shortly afterwards.

The Bruton Parish Episcopal Church stands on the Duke of Gloucester Street, in the heart of Williamsburg and close to the Palace Green, the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum, the College of William and Mary, and the Zable Stadium. Further notable places of worship in the area include the historic Hickory Neck Episcopal Church on Richmond Road, which is located on the far northern outskirts of the city, in the neighboring town of Toano.
