Salt Lake City Gay and Lesbian Scene

(Salt Lake City, Utah - UT, USA)

With a noticeable gay and lesbian presence within many parts of the city, those heading to Salt Lake City and looking for the LGBT scene will find several bars right in the city center itself.

Always extremely popular at the weekend is Club Try-Angles, which opened in 2002 and is located on West 900 South, just a ten-minute walk from Jefferson Park. Club Try-Angles comes highly recommended and features particularly friendly bartenders, Wednesday pool competitions, karaoke nights and a dance floor.

Just a little more than a mile away and lying on South 600 West is Pure and Club Sound, a gay nightclub frequented by a fairly youthful crowd, being especially busy on Fridays. Regular concerts and cage dancing are the principal attractions here, while also sited on South 600 West is the Trapp, which ranks as one of the most welcoming of all the LGBT friendly bars in Salt Lake City since it first opened its doors as far back as the turn of the 1990s.

The Jam Bar is not to be missed and is found on North 300 West, where it has boasted the accolade of 'Best Gay Bar in Utah' for a number of consecutive years. The dance mix on Friday and Saturday nights reliably draws in the crowds, as do Thirsty Thursdays, when movies are shown on a giant screen outside in the patio garden.
