Alamo Heights District

Affluent and exclusive, San Antonio's Alamo Heights district is home to some of the city's finest dining, priciest shopping and wealthiest residents. The area encompasses several neighborhoods including Terrell Hills, Lincoln Heights and Olmos Park. Most of the shopping and dining opportunities can be found on Broadway and New Braunfels. This area is also home to Brackenridge Park golf course, the Witte Museum and the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.

Downtown District

A hub of tourist activity, the downtown district of San Antonio is home to many visitor attractions including the Alamo and Rivercenter Mall, with its IMAX Theater. Other popular attractions in downtown include Ripley's Haunted Adventure, the Guinness World Records Museum and Davy Crockett's Tall Tales Ride. The Paseo del Rio, or River Walk, snakes its way through downtown and is packed with shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues that attract locals and visitors alike.

King William District

Located south of downtown San Antonio, the King William district has undergone resurgence in popularity and many of its historic homes have been bought and refurbished by young professionals. This fashionable area has its fair share of galleries, coffee houses, restaurants, bars and shops.

Northwest San Antonio

This rapidly developing area is home to strip malls, housing complexes and offices. It is also the district where most of the city's hospitals and medical facilities are located. Head far northwest and you will find the Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Sea World.

Monte Vista District

Located northwest of downtown San Antonio and next to Alamo Heights is the Monte Vista district. This area is home to some of the finest historical houses and is fast becoming a desirable neighborhood to live in, with many homes that were once in a state of disrepair having been snapped up and refurbished. Monte Vista is also home to Trinity University, resulting in the area having a sizable student population. There is a concentration of shops, delis and restaurants on Main Avenue.
