Fort Worth Maps and Orientation

Located in the northeastern quadrant of Texas state, the city of Fort Worth resides within no less than four different counties, namely
Denton,
Parker,
Tarrant and
Wise, being the
county seat for Tarrant. The city serves as the second-biggest belonging to the
Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington region, after the world-famous metropolis that is
Dallas.
The city of Dallas lies directly east of Fort Worth, via the
Tom Landry Freeway (Interstate I-30), and with a rental car it can be comfortably reached in around 45 minutes or thereabouts.
Irving is slightly closer, while Arlington is a mere 25 minutes away by road.
Maps show that Fort Worth belongs to the
American Southwest and in particular, the region known as the
Grand Prairie, within
Cross Timbers. The
downtown district is dissected by the South Freeway (Interstate I-35W) and boasts a wealth of buildings featuring Art Deco and Beaux Arts architecture.

Texas Christian University (TCU) is to be found.
