Home of former North Carolina governor John Motley Morehead, this stately 19th-century house was modeled after an Italian villa and is now a National Historic Landmark. The mansion is a museum in itself, with stunning collections of furniture, paintings, sculptures, lighting and silverware. Blandwood Mansion features prominently in every historic walking tour of Greensboro.

Wet N' Wild Emerald Pointe Theme Park

Full of fun, the Wet N' Wild Emerald Pointe Theme Park has dozens of great water rides and is the largest water park in the Carolinas. There are rides and slides to suit all ages, with Splash Island and Happy Harbor being the main highlights for children. Tannenbaum Historic Park

This historically important land was once a farmstead and British staging area for the Battle of Guilford during the War of Independence. The park hosts battle re-enactments and other live history shows, which blend in tastefully with the permanent exhibits housed in the Colonial Heritage Center. A gift shop and picnic area complement the facilities at this interesting park.
