Well worth a visit in Asheville is the Colburn Earth Science Museum, which is full of interactive exhibits for all ages and resides on South Pack Square, near to the Biltmore Estate.

Also located on South Park Square is the Asheville Art Museum, where both fine arts and contemporary works await. Visitors can expect to find a schedule of changing exhibitions, together with a permanent collection comprising some 6,000 pieces and numerous art-related events, such as life-drawing classes, painting workshops and film screenings.

A unique and enthralling edutainment attraction, the Colburn Earth Science Museum introduces visitors to the importance and uses of the earth's mineral resources. There are plenty of interactive displays and hands-on activities here, as well as extensive displays of all kinds of gems and minerals.

Centrally located at Park Place, the Asheville Art Museum displays a stunning collection of world-class paintings, sculptures, photographs and other fine arts. The focus is on modern and contemporary pieces, although there are special year-round exhibitions featuring famous works of different styles and periods.
