There is not a particularly extensive accommodation scene present in Frankfort, and so those looking for hotels will be rather limited by where they are intending to stay.

For visitors searching for lodging in downtown Frankfort, the Capital Plaza Hotel is amongst the most central, standing on the Wilkinson Boulevard, in between Clinton Street and Mero Street. The Capital Plaza is an especially popular accommodation option, due to its proximity to the Frankfort Convention Center, the River View Park, the Riverview Trail and the Kentucky River.

Further hotels are clustered on the southern side of the city, along thoroughfares such as Lawrenceburg Road (US-127) on the western side of the Kentucky River, and Versailles Road (US-60) to the east. And if you are prepared to stay a little longer, then consider checking out the lodging scene in 'nearby' Lexington.

Where to Stay

Lining Lawrenceburg Road are a number of prominent accommodation brands, suiting those who prefer to stay at familiar surroundings. These include a Hampton Inn, which is a reliable choice and frequently comes with favorable reviews. Close to the Hampton Inn is a branch of Starbucks, a LongHorn Steakhouse and a Holiday Inn Express Hotel, which is just a matter of minutes away and resides on Vandalay Drive.

Also standing on Lawrenceburg Road is an Americas Best Value Inn, which offers competitively priced lodging just down the road from the Franklin Square Cinema entertainment complex, as well as a branch of McDonald's, several banks and a US post office. Just under 0.5 miles / 0.8 km to the north of the Americas Best Value Inn is a Days Inn, where a large outdoor swimming pool is a major draw during the summer months of Kentucky.

Head along Chenault Road, just off Versailles Road, and you can choose between branded accommodation such as the Best Western Parkside Inn and the Fairfield Inn and Suites. The nearby Bluegrass Inn also stands in this part of Frankfort and is another reliable cheap hotel, with clean rooms and basic facilities.
