Wichita's Botanica Gardens are home to a number of stunning, landscaped, themed botanical gardens, with seasonal displays throughout the year. Exploration Place has become one of Wichita's most popular tourist attractions and appeals to all ages, especially familes. With hands-on displays and shows, numerous scientific gadgets, wetlands areas, computer design labs, a wellness center, restaurant, picnic spots and gift shop, Exploration Place stimulates your mind, imagination and perceptions.

Great Plains Nature Center

The Great Plains Nature Center showcases the beauty of the North American prairie, which consists of rivers, streams, lakes, woodlands and wetlands, and can be seen in the marvelous Koch Habitat Hall. There is also a massive 2,000-gallon aquarium stocked with fish of the area, while a 2-mile / 3- km long trail takes in Chisholm Creek Park. The center is located in northeast Wichita, just out of the city.

Mid-America All Indian Center (MAAIC)

The Indian Center is a sizeable museum complex that tells the story of the rich heritage of the many native tribes of North America. A collection of permanent and temporary exhibits depict the life of the Indians before and throughout the occupation of European settlers. There is also a fine display of Native American tribal flags, known as the Gallery of Nations, together with basketry and beadwork displays, and a gift shop selling all kinds of American Indian goodies.
