Boise Airport (BOI) Information

(Boise, Idaho - ID, USA)

Skyline view of BoiseOperating as a passenger, military and general aviation air facility, Boise Airport is situated a short distance to the south of downtown Boise. The airport was first established in 1936, after the original site for the 1926 airfield was taken over by the local university. The latest statistics reveal that marginally less than three million passengers now use the facility each year.

The modern terminal is renowned for its contemporary design and unique structure. Two runways, both about 2 miles / 3 km in length, operate all year round. The terminal does not boast any international passenger facilities, and so only domestic flights are offered.

Boise Airport was formerly a base hub for Horizon Airlines before 9 / 11. Today, it is only a focus city for the airline, yet it continues to offer the most flights of any airline serving this airport. Other airlines based here include Delta Connection, Skywest Airlines, United Express and US Airways.
