Pensacola Hotels and Accommodation

(Pensacola, Florida - FL, USA)

Photo of a hotel complexA popular tourist destination in Florida, thanks in no small part to its appealing coastal setting, Pensacola comes with plenty of accommodation and lends itself to a summer vacation, since hotels here are generally very affordable. The lodging scene in Pensacola is well-developed, with many hotels favoring a downtown location.

On the southerly side of the city, accommodation is also very much based around the Pensacola Beach district, where splendid gulf views await. With the city being fairly compact and easy to get around, many visitors choose to take full advantage of the budget motels and hotels situated outside of the city and simply commute to the beach each day.

Where to Stay

Those looking to stay close to the Pensacola Regional Airport (PNS) will need to look for accommodation on the northeasterly side of the city. Suitable hotels include the Homewood Suites by Hilton on the Corporate Woods Drive and the nearby Hampton Inn on the Airport Boulevard, both of which are also close to the popular Cordova Mall and a number of chain restaurants lining the neighboring Bayou Boulevard.

Budget accommodation in Pensacola comes in the form of familiar cheap chains and brands, which line much of the Interstate I-10 corridor running along the northerly outskirts the city. Just off the I-10 and clustered on a section of the Pensacola Boulevard are an array of budget options, such as the Executive Inn, the Howard Johnson, the Ramada Hotel and the Travelodge Inn, all of which are no more than 12 miles / 19 km from the actual beachfront.

Picture of hotel facilitiesLuxury accommodation is certainly a little scarce in Pensacola, although there are many very favorable three-star hotels with decent locations. One such choice is the Hilton Beach Gulf Front Hotel on the Via De Luna Drive, which boasts uninterrupted views of the Gulf of Mexico and is within walking distance of water sports, shops, restaurants and leading nightspots.

The Crowne Plaza Grand Pensacola on East Gregory Street is another notable three-star hotel and resides within a fully restored railway depot, which now incorporates a 15-floor glass tower and breathtaking cityscape vistas. Next to the University Mall shopping complex is the Extended Stay America, which is a popular two-star choice and offers extremely good value for money, with large studio suites being available.
