Cobb Lane

Step back in time in Birmingham along this charming, cobble-stoned street, filled with antique stores and specialty shops. Intermixed with the shopping venues are some lovely street side cafés, as well as quality restaurants serving sumptuous Southern cuisine. Of particular note is the quaint cobbled courtyard, complete with murals and fountains.


Downtown District

Downtown Birmingham is a tastefully modernized city center full of restored architectural heritage, green expanses and upmarket stores. This district is great for strolling, with plenty of shade created by the tree-lined streets and parklands. You can experience much of Birmingham's varied history in the downtown district, from the splendor of 19th-century historic buildings to the shame of the 16th-Street Baptist Church, where four girls were killed in a bombing in 1963. Nearby Kelly Ingram Park has a statue of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. located near to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, a sign of the successful efforts the city has made to improve its image.

Riverchase Galleria

Birmingham's preeminent shopping destination, Riverchase Galleria is a modern shopping complex with an incredible glass skylight - the world's longest. In the mall you'll find some major department stores, more than 200 specialty stores and 30 restaurants. There is truly something for everyone in this shopper's paradise.

Five Points South District

The trendiest of Birmingham's districts, Five Points South has great live street entertainment, which creates a festive atmosphere at all times of the year. Here you will find the city's best restaurants and upmarket bars. Five Points South is also the heart of Birmingham's nightclub scene, offering plenty of chic clubs mixed with live music bars and all kinds of different themes. Five Points South is on 20th Street South at 11th Avenue.
